Kathy has a first class honours degree in social anthropology from Cambridge and an Oxford M.Phil in sociology.

She is currently a research fellow of the Centre for Policy Studies where she was intrumental in the publication of Shaun Bailey's No Mans Land and co-authored From Latchkey to leadership with Ray Lewis.
She chaired and authored the Addictions Reports of the Social Justice Policy Review for the Conservative Party, published in Breakdown Britian in december 2006 and Breakthrough Britain in July 2007.
